Keep it clean - Maintenance and General Care
Cabinetry
Melamine Doors and Carcase
Keeping your melamine surfaces clean is easy. Regular cleaning simply involves wiping with a clean, damp cloth.
Stubborn grease and grime
To clean off grimy film, use diluted vinegar and water or Selley's Sugar Soap.
Spills and stains
The most important thing is to catch the stain early. Wiping it with warm soapy water is the first thing to try.
While thermoform doors and panels are water resistant, they aren’t water proof. Care should be taken to ensure that they don’t have excessive exposure to water, steam or extreme humidity. Care should also be taken to protect doors from high temperatures - such as hot implements or heat leaks from faulty appliances. Generally you should clean doors with a warm damp cloth which has had the excess water wrung out of it, and remove any moisture remaining after cleaning with a dry cloth.
Never use the following on your doors
abrasive cleaners, Janola or similar, scourer pads, wire wool, sand paper, or solvents and thinners.
Wood veneer surfaces
requires a little extra care.
Dusting
Use only a soft dry cloth or feather duster.
Polishing
Use a high quality furniture polish (non-silicone based) with a soft cloth.
Spillages
should be cleaned with a damp cloth as soon as possible, moisture may cause damage to the coating. Do not allow nail polishes and removers, personal deodorants, perfumes, aftershave lotions, soaps etc to come into contact with the lacquer.
Dirty or Greasy Marks
After wiping with a dry cloth, persistent marks may be moved by mild, non-abrasive cleaner appropriate to the surface finish. Do not use "spray and wipe" solutions or excessive force when removing marks.
Direct Sunlight - should be avoided on all internal veneered surfaces as fading, bleaching or colour changes of the surface coating may occur.
Benchtops
Laminate Surfaces
A damp cloth removes spills and greasy spots. Rub with a clean, dry cloth to bring back brightness. Occasionally clean with warm soapy water. To remove heavy build-up of dirt use Mr Muscle® Surface & Glass, Windex® or Ajax Spray n Wipe spray cleaners. For difficult spills use a common household cleaner such as Jif® . Do not put hot saucepans directly onto your benchtop and do not cut directly on your benchtop.
Granite
Although granite benchtops are sealed they are naturally a porous product. To avoid staining wipe up spills immediately.
Clean regularly with warm soapy water or use Mr Muscle® . Dry with a clean t-towel or paper towel to avoid streaking. A silicone furniture polish will maintain the luster is used every 2 months. Do not put hot saucepans directly onto your benchtop and do not cut directly on your benchtop.

Clean regularly with warm soapy water. Satin and brushed finishes can be revitalized with a rub with a scotchbrite pad in the same direction of the grain to remove most scratches.
Resin Surfaces
Warm soapy water or ammonia-based cleaners will remove most dirt and stains.
